First Get Acquainted Meeting

There were thirty-eight in attendance with three guests from the community during the first Get Acquainted Meeting for Anchor Baptist Church in Potsdam, NY. Pastor Roland Gay of Westbrook Baptist Church in Westbrook, ME, the reproducing church, traveled seven hours to be a part of the first opening meeting. Pastor Pedro Morales of First Baptist Church in Parishville also attended the meeting and brought several church members to help with the service. Pastor Morales has been a special blessing and encouragement and he has committed to attending each of the services this week. It is obvious that the Lord is blessing the birth of this new church. Please pray for the remaining four nights.

Second Get Acquainted Meeting

The second Get Acquainted Meeting for Anchor Baptist Church was blessed to have two supporting pastors attending. Pastor Jason Stoeber, founder of Westbrook Baptist Church, the reproducing church traveled over twelve hours to help with the remaining meetings. Pastor Stoeber and his wife were a special blessing with the music and are always an encouragement. Pastor Pedro Morales of First Baptist Church in Parishville also attended the meeting again and brought a few of his members to serve. There was one more first-time guest visiting from the community. Pray for this needy area of Potsdam and for the three remaining nights as we ask God to continue to establish His church.

Third & Fourth Get Acquainted Meeting

There is definitely a sense that the Lord is working in the services this week in Potsdam with decisions being made at the alter each night. The last two nights have averaged twenty-eight in attendance with one more first-time guest visiting the fourth opening meeting. Each guest this week has stayed after for fellowship and has expressed interest in the new church. The pastors who have visited have been encouraged and are thankful that a new church is being planted in such a dark and needy area. Pray for the fifth and final night as Pastor Noreau preaches and shares his heart and vision for Anchor Baptist Church.

Final Get Acquainted Meeting

What a great final night the Lord gave to Anchor Baptist Church! All but one of the visiting guests came back to hear Pastor James Noreau preach and share his vision and burden for the new church. There were also three returning pastors and one new pastor attending to give their support. Pastor Daniel Welsh of Bible Baptist Church of Ogdensburg, NY, attended for the first time. Pastor Welsh started Bible Baptist just over seven years ago and when he saw what was going on this week at the Get Acquainted Meetings, he mentioned, “I wish I had meetings and church support like this when I started, it would have made such a great difference”.  These meetings have made a difference as Lord used them to help lay a strong foundation for Anchor Baptist Church. Pray for Pastor Noreau and for the first Sunday as they seek the Lord and ask Him to establish His work in Potsdam.
