The following health update is from Dr. Jessup given on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at 4:43 p.m. CST.

I am sending this out just so everyone knows how things are going. I have had the first two treatments and with no side effects or any problems. I just drive down to Sunnybrook in Toronto, have the treatment and drive home. It all takes about 4.5 hours every day. I saw the doctor today and he isn’t expecting me to have any problems with this, but every Wednesday I will see him to go over my situation.

This must be some pretty high dose radiation. I am in a bunker-like room and the door is 12″ wide. They close me in there and then there are lights on the outside telling everyone in the waiting room when the beams are on. I haven’t felt anything when it is on and there is no burning sensation on my chest.

The only problem I have experienced is my gray hair is singed on the ends!!!!  Just Kidding!!!!!!!

The doctor did say that it will be at least three or four months before we know any results from this. He usually waits that long before a CT scan is done. Likely one will be scheduled for November or December. We just have to understand that anything can happen, and the Lord is in control of all this.
